Dr. M. Noe Noe Wong-Wilson is a Kanaka Maoli educator, cultural practitioner and native rights activist born and raised in Kailua, Koʻolaupoko on Oʻahu. She currently resides in Hilo, Hawaiʻi on the slopes of Maunakea and is married with three children and three grandchildren.  Her families are from Maui and Hawaiʻi Island.  

Noe Noe is a Hawaiian culture educator, kupuna and kiaʻi, protector of Mauna a Wākea.  She is retired from University of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Community College in Hilo where she taught and managed a program for Native Hawaiian student success.  She currently serves as Executive Director of Lālākea Foundation, a Hawaiian cultural non-profit organization whose purpose is to perpetuate Hawaiian cultural arts and protocol, particularly Hula and its attendant arts.

Noe Noe was the coordinator of the 1999 WIPCE in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. She also serves on the WIPCE International Council.  She has served as the coordinator and director of several large educational and cultural conferences in Hawaiʻi.

Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Anthropology, University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo (2001)

Master of Arts in Pacific Islands Studies, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Thesis title:

“Paths Toward Creation of an Independent Hawaiian Nation, Ethnographies of Four Hawaiian Independence Leaders” with Dr. Kekuni Blaisdell, Mililani Trask, Keanu Sai and Bumpy Kanahele.
